Sanjaya Mohottala, who is currently serving as the Director General of The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI), is tipped to be appointed Chairman, reliable sources told The Morning today (01 December).
If appointed he would replace former John Keells Holdings (JKH) Chairman and CEO Susantha Ratnayake, who resigned as Chairman of the BOI yesterday (30), after just under a year in the role.
Mohottala was appointed as DG of BOI in early March 2020, and in addition to this role he is also a Board Member of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board and SriLankan Airlines, as well as a member of the Presidential Task Force for Economic Revival and Poverty Alleviation.
Prior to joining BOI, Mohottala was Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group and worked as a Brand Manager at Unilever Sri Lanka and as an Oracle Product Specialist at MillenniumIT.
Mohottala received his MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is a Fulbright Scholar and holds a BSc. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (with distinction) from the University of Moratuwa. He is also a Management Accountant (CIMA - UK) and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM – UK).
