Former parliamentarian D.E.W. Gunasekara has stepped down from the post of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka (CPSL).
Following his resignation, the party has appointed a new General Secretary for the party.
Accordingly, Dr. G. Weerasinghe has been appointed to the post left vacant by Gunasekara.
