Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle was appointed as the State Minister for Primary Health Services, Infectious Diseases and Covid-19 Prevention, the President’s Media Division said today. The new Minister of State was sworn in before President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat this evening. The President has decided that with the spread of COVID-19, a proper policy and practical mechanism should be put in place to identify and control all future epidemics. The new Ministry of State has been created to achieve this objective,” the PMD said.
