The Cabinet of Ministers yesterday approved a proposal to implement ‘e-thaksalawa’ online programme as the official online learning portal in the schools and other educational institutions functioning under the Ministry of Education.
The proposal wastabled by the Minister of Education G. L. Pieris to implement the ‘e - thaksalawa' programme as an online programme with a view to continue educational activities of the school students without constraints as a remedy to the situation erupted due to COVID - 19 pandemic conditions.
The programme allows school children to gain access to school textbooks, syllabuses, learning contents, video lessons, question papers, multiple choice questions etc pertaining to the syllabuses from grades 1 to 13.
