Funeral of CWC Leader Arumugam Thondaman on 31 of May

The final rites of Ceylon Workers Congress (CMC) Leader and Minister Arumugam Thondaman will be performed on the 31st of May at the Norwood Thondaman Ground. Thondaman (55) passed away yesterday after he suffered a heart attack. He was admitted to the Thalangama base hospital where he died. Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay met with Minister Thondaman yesterday to discuss bilateral co-operation for community development between the two nations while the High Commission posted a photo of the participants on its Twitter account last afternoon. Born on May 29, 1964, Thondaman is the grandson of prominent unionist and founder of CWC Saumyamoorthi Thondaman. He took over the leadership of CWC and represented the Nuwara Eliya District in Parliament. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
