The Kalutara Urban Council (UC) Chairman was arrested by the police today. The Chairman was arrested on charges of allegedly entering a sports complex, unlawful assembly and violating quarantine regulations. The incident had taken place on the 23rd of June. Following a complaint lodged by the manager of the stadium Kalutara Police launched an investigation into the incident. Last week, the Opposition Leader of the Kalutara Pradeshiya Sabha S.A.D. Nilantha and another suspect were apprehended over the incident.
