The Organization to protect the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) has decided to nominate United People's Freedom Alliance(UPFA) Parliamentarian Kumara Welgama as their presidential candidate. The Organization to protect the SLFP said that Welgama would be appointed as the presidential candidate if the SLFP fails to field  its own candidate in the forthcoming elections. Accordingly, Welgama is expected  to discuss matters in this regard with SLFP Leader President Maithripala Sirisena today (Oct 3)
