“The water samples collected by the Marine Environment Protection Authority have been submitted to both the Ruhuna University and the MEPA laboratory situated in Galle. The toxicity levels of the oil spill have affected the marine life in the surrounding areas by cutting off the oxygen passage to the sea,” he said.
