The police gathered over 300 homeless including beggars and labourers in the Gunasinghapura area to be sent to quarantine centres.

The measure was taken after an individual had tested positive for COVID-19 in the area.

The homeless were bathed, disinfected and given new clothes before they were registered and taken in special buses to respective quarantine centers.
