The government should make available the Hydroxychloroquine drug for COVID-19 patients in the country, former Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said at a press conference in Colombo today (20).

He added that the measure should be taken in consultation with the US Food and Drug Administration (FTA). "Yesterday, US President Donald Trump announced that 'Hydroxychloroquine' could be used to treat the coronavirus. Hydroxychloroquine is not new and has been used to treat ailments such as malaria," Premadasa said.
