09 May 2019

United National Party MP Sarath Fonseka has stated that the threat of terrorism in Sri Lanka is far from being eliminated in Sri Lanka. The former Army Commander made this statement during the adjournment debate held on the security condition of the country, in Parliament yesterday (08). He further added that it would take a minimum of atleast two years to completely eradicate the prevailing threat of terrorism while strengthening intelligence. MP Fonseka disputed the President's statement that the threat of terror in Sri Lanka had almost entirely been eliminated.
