Sri Lanka’s Gayanthika Abeyratne and Indunil Herath failed to perform their best and were deprived of any medal at the women’s and men’s 800m finals of the ongoing Indonesia Asian Games on Tuesday, 28 August.
Many finalists from Sri Lanka in track and field events in this year’s Asian Games failed to stage a medal-winning performance so far.
The Games will be over this weekend.
Women’s 800m Finals –
Gayanthika Abeyratne of SL - 2:05.50 seconds to win 6th place

Gold: Wang Chunyu of China - 2:01.80 seconds.
Silver: Mukasheva Margarita of Kazakhstan - 2:02.40 seconds
Bronze: Elbahraoui Manal of Bahrain - 2:02.69 seconds
Men’s 800m Finals –
Indunil Herath of SL - 1:51.36 seconds to win 8th place
