
Tourists on short term stay will be subject to three PCR tests, the Tourism Ministry told

Tourists who arrive in the Island will be subject to a PCR test at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The second PCR test will be done within 5 to 7 days of their arrival.
The third PCR test will be done within 12 to 14 days of their arrival.
The Tourism Ministry added that tourists on long stay will be subject to PCR tests every 14 days after the initial test conducted at BIA.
The Tourism Ministry said relevant Public Health Inspectors (PHIs) will conduct the tests under the supervision of the Health Ministry.
The government announced it will reopen the tourism sector on 1st August by allowing only small groups of visitors to begin with.
