Travel bloggers, influencers to promote Sri Lankan tourism

BY Dinitha Ratnayake  Media and travel influencers and film tourism influencers have been invited to promote Sri Lanka Tourism with the recent travel relaxation for international tourists.  This Ministry of Tourism-initiated campaign is to last until March 2022 along with the participation of 10 high-profile journalists and travel influencers from Norway, India, and the Philippines.  Accordingly, a Norwegian and Filipino travel influencer couple were invited to Sri Lanka in the month of October (15 October to 6 November 2021) to commence a social media promotional campaign about travelling to Sri Lanka during this pandemic period.  They have been further commissioned by the German DW TV channel (Deutsche Welle) in order to produce a travel video about Sri Lanka for their YouTube channel.  Among the invited travel personalities, Indian bloggers Veidehi Gite, Nivedith Gajapathy, Meenakshi, Siddhartha Joshi, Soumya Gayatri, and Ami Bhat were also included to promote tourism in Sri Lanka.  Further, Ukrainian travel bloggers, online journalists, Russian journalists representing Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and UAE influencer Khali Al Ameri have been invited to do promotional content. Additionally, German journalists, British vloggers, and Irish bloggers have been invited to do promotions as well.
