St. Sylvester’s College, considered the underdogs for their 64th Big Match against Vidyartha College, turned all odds upside down to topple their opponents by 10 wickets in Pallekele on Saturday (30). 

With this win, St. Sylvester’s took their tally to 16 while Vidyartha had won three times, with the last win coming way back in 1967. The Sylvesterians’ last win was in 2022.

For the winners, pacie Isuru Gunasekera (11) and spinner Nimesha Silva (8) destroyed their opponents by taking 19 wickets out of the 20 to fall on both days.
