The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers in Sabaragamuwa, Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara, with possible heavy falls around 50mm. 

Showers or thundershowers may affect Uva, Northern, and Eastern provinces by evening. 

Strong winds up to 50kmph are expected in multiple regions. 

The public is advised to take precautions against wind and lightning.
