17 political parties including the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) signed an agreement today to form a new coalition.
The event was held at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute in Colombo.
The new coalition is named ‘Sri Lanka Nidahas Podujana Sandanaya’ also known as Sri Lanka Freedom People’s Alliance (SFPA).
The alliance will contest the upcoming general elections, provincial council elections and the pradeshiya sabha elections under the symbol of the 'chair'.
