SriLankan Airlines has acquired a state of the art Airbus A320 aircraft on a lease basis. The aircraft arrived from Malaysia on 21 December.
The A320, known for its high fuel efficiency, is equipped with 12 business class seats and 138 economy class seats.
The aircraft is scheduled for its maiden flight from Katunayake to Malé on 29 December.
The addition of this new jumbo is expected to expand SriLankan Airlines' flight operations.
The national carrier conducts direct flight operations from Katunayake to 36 destinations in 21 countries.
