The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) staged a protest against the Trincomalee oil tank deal between Sri Lanka and India. The protest was held today (19) from the Maradana Technical Junction to the Fort Railway Station. Sri Lanka’s state-run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) signed an agreement with Lanka IOC (LIOC), a subsidiary of state-owned Indian Oil Corporation, on the 6th of January to jointly develop the Trincomalee oil tank farm.
