The People’s Action for Free & Fair Elections (PAFFREL) says no major incidents have been reported since campaigning for the 2025 Local Government (LG) election began.

Accordingly, it has received 20 complaints related to misuse of government property and 15 regarding personal attacks.

PAFFREL Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi noted a low level of public interest in the election.

Around 4,000 observers will be deployed for the polls, including 200 specifically assigned to monitor postal voting.
