The deadline to make final payments on income tax for 2023/2024 ends today (30). 

The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) last week urged all taxpayers to ensure they make their final income tax payments for the Year of Assessment 2023/2024 on or before 30 September. Issuing a notice to taxpayers, it warned failure to meet this deadline may result in penalties and interest charges. The penalties and interest imposed for non-payment or late payment of income tax will not be waived or reduced, the department said.

In addition, the IRD reminds taxpayers to clear all outstanding default taxes on or before 30 October. After the deadline, any unpaid default taxes will be subject to rigorous collection actions, including legal proceedings under the Inland Revenue Act, statement said.
