The report of the probe conducted into the recent islandwide power outage is to be released within the next few days, it is learnt.
Informed sources attached to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) told The Daily Morning that once the report is submitted by the investigating committee, attention will be paid to taking necessary steps based on the report.
The power outage occurred at around 11 a.m. on 9 February. The Energy Ministry claimed that the incident was a result of an emergency situation at the Panadura Grid Sub Station, while the engineers attached to the CEB pointed out several longstanding issues including in power transmission. In response, the authorities launched a probe to look into the causes of the power outage.
