The Glorious Church management, under the leadership of Prophet Jerome Fernando, has released a statement mentioning that legal action would be taken to this tarnishing the Glorious Church name.
This statement was signed by the Chairman of The Glorious Church Pastor Harin Perera.
"We as a Ministry have maintained the highest level of accountability in our finances and are audited by world renowned auditors KPMG to ensure there is financial transparency. We also meet all regulatory requirements and pay all taxes to the Government of Sri Lanka," the statement read.
It further requested church members from circulating 'false and baseless' allegations on social media against Prophet Jerome Fernando.
Social Media posts were circulated widely against Prophet Jerome Fernando when his 'spiritual father' Uebert Angel was exposed by the Al Jazeera Investigative Unit (iUnit) for money laundering using his diplomatic status in the Zimbabwean government.
Uebert Angel was recorded telling undercover journalists that he can use his diplomatic powers to smuggle in USD 1.2 billion into Zimbabwe in return for gold.
Angel has been under the radar of The United Kingdom for accusations levelled against him for Sexual Harassment and financial fraud.
Due to Angel's close affiliation with said Prophet Jerome Fernando, many have accused Fernando for his extravagant lifestyle.
Members of the church have revealed that the local 'Prophet' dresses in luxury brands such as Gucci and Tom Ford, which are purchased by funds collected by the church.
Repeated attempts made by The Daily Morning to contact Prophet Jerome Ministries or associate pastors for a statement have proved futile. The family remains mum on the matter.
