Medical students give govt. two week deadline on private colleges

The Medical Faculty Students’ Action Committee has given the Government two weeks to clarify its stance on private medical colleges and repeal related Cabinet decisions, the committee’s convener, Ravindu Sachintha.


Following a protest in Colombo, student representatives met Prime Minister (PM) Harini Amarasuriya, demanding transparency on the transfer of Government hospitals to private institutions.


The committee insists the Government must publicly state its position, not just assure students.
