The persecution I am facing along with my colleagues is because of a personal vendetta towards me by Ranil Rajapaksa and he is just doing the dirty laundry of the Rajapaksa family, says Samagi Vanitha Balawegaya (SVB) leader Hirunika Premachandra.
She stated this while speaking to The Daily Morning today (17).
"Not even Gotabaya Rajapaksa is this offended by our protests outside his residence, whereas Ranil Rajapaksa is highly offended and is taking revenge. Even if Ranil is doing the dirty laundry of the Rajapaksa's, he doesn't need to make such an effort to silence me. I am just a woman and they see me as a threat. When the ladies and I protested on International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, I was told that the police wanted me arrested and not grant me bail," said Premachandra.
Earlier this morning, Premachandra, Rehan Jayawickreme and 9 others received bail by the Fort Magistrate's court for protesting outside the residence of former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Despite the court bail, the Police have filed fresh charges today and the group of 11 have been summoned to the Fort Police station once again tomorrow at 9am.
