All police officers assigned to the security of former ministers and parliamentarians have been reassigned to their respective police stations, according to the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasooriya.
Accordingly, all officers previously deployed for such duties - approximately 1,200 in number - have been recalled and reassigned.
This reassignment follows the recent dissolution of the Parliament.
