The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the extension of the Project Management Unit overseeing the Colombo Port City Development Project until 5 June 2027.

The unit serves as the primary liaison between the Sri Lankan government and CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd., facilitating project supervision, issue resolution, and coordination of utility services.

This extension ensures the unit can complete the planned activities under the project’s second phase, scheduled for completion by mid-2027.

The proposal was submitted by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake in his role as Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development.
