The Department of Meteorology warns that the heat index is expected to rise to the ‘Caution level’ in parts of Sri Lanka.

Affected areas include the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, and Eastern provinces, along with Hambantota and Monaragala districts.

Authorities advise the public to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours.
