The Russian House in Colombo recently organised an almsgiving and pirith-chanting ceremony to evoke blessings on its Director Maria Popova, staff members, and their families, and to transfer merits to all its departed members.
The observances were held on Thursday (19) in the library area of the Russian House. Some of the centre’s previous members joined the organisers and contributed with their participation in this meritorious deed.
Alms were served to three Buddhist monks, who were subsequently presented with ‘ata pirikara’ and other forms of ‘pirikara’. Lunch was also provided to members of the staff.
