Former MP and member of the JVP politburo, Wasantha Samarasinghe has alleged that former Minister Tiran Alles was involved in coercing deals related to passport and visa schemes.
Speaking to the media yesterday (5), Samarasinghe claimed that Alles’s actions resulted in increased visa fees, with profits being shared between the Government and a private company.
Samarasinghe stated that the investigation has uncovered how the profits were divided and who benefited both directly and indirectly. He addressed growing concerns on social media, suggesting that the National People’s Power (NPP) Government might be showing leniency toward Alles, or perhaps even intimidated by him.
He assured the public that justice would be served through proper legal channels, stating that those worried, including YouTubers and influencers, should not be concerned.
Samarasinghe emphasised that legal action would be taken against anyone involved in wrongdoing, whether it is Tiran Alles or even Mahinda Rajapaksa, irrespective of their political affiliations or social status.
