Family members of the late LTTE Leader Velupillai Prabhakaran have accused some Tamil politicians of abusing the names of Prabhakaran and that of his late daughter to gain financial and political mileage.
These observations were made by one of Prabhakaran’s nephews Karthik Manoharan during an interview with the English media.
According to Manoharan, Indian Tamil politicians P. Nedumaran and Cassi Anandan and Sri Lankan Tamil politician M.K. Shivajilingam are trying to resurrect his uncle (Prabhakaran) and cousin (Prabhakaran’s daughter).
He has further alleged that a scam has been unleashed globally by some Indian Tamil politicians and members of the Tamil diaspora where monies are being collected by some individuals, claiming it will be utilised to help Prabhakaran’s survival and called on Tamil people not to be misled by such statements. He has urged Tamil people not to give money to any individuals abusing the former LTTE Leader’s name.
Manoharan has added that the dead should be given their due respect and allowed to remain in peace and that scams such as the ones being carried out at present are the real reason for Tamil people’s vulnerability.
