Minister of Public Security Ananda Wijepala announced that 50,000 passports for overseas applicants and 125,000 for local applicants have been received. 

Around 4,000 passports are now issued daily. 

The night service for passport issuance may end next month, and e-passports will launch in December. 

Raw materials for passport printing have been secured through the year.
