Former President Maithripala Sirisena left the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) after giving a statement regarding the distribution of funds from the President’s Fund.

He was questioned for several hours about providing financial aid to individuals, including politicians.

This is his second appearance before the CID on the matter.

Sirisena was previously questioned for around 4 hours on 7 April.
