On the sixth anniversary of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, Sri Lanka’s leading Muslim organizations issued a heartfelt statement honouring the victims and demanding justice.
They strongly condemned the attackers, emphasising that the perpetrators do not represent Islam or the Muslim community.
The statement also criticised ongoing injustices, including the use of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) against Muslims, and stressed the urgent need to identify the true masterminds behind the attacks.
Muslim leaders urged unity among all Sri Lankans and called for structural reforms to end cycles of violence and impunity.
Over 15 major Muslim organizations endorsed the message, pledging continued support for national peace and coexistence.
