Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga clarified her neutral stance on the 2024 Presidential Election, denying any endorsement of candidates.
She urged voters to focus on candidates' policies and proposed the abolition of the Executive Presidency, prioritising reforms in education, health, agriculture, and Governance.
Kumaratunga emphasised the need for citizen participation through a People’s Council to review and oversee Government policy, aiming for transparency and the eradication of corruption in Governance.
