President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that a bill to recover illegally acquired assets will be presented in Parliament on 8 April.
Speaking in Matara, he stressed that fraudsters and corrupt individuals would not be allowed to govern the country again.
He also confirmed that proposals for the 2026 Budget will be accepted from June.
On economic recovery, the President highlighted that Japan has agreed to resume 11 stalled projects, while China has consented to restart halted initiatives, including the Kadawatha-Mirigama expressway and 76 new projects, signs of stabilizing economic conditions.
