The Department of Meteorology forecasts showers or thundershowers in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (22), with fairly heavy rainfall of about 75mm in several provinces. 

Morning showers are likely in the Western Province and in Galle, Matara, and Puttalam districts.

 The public is urged to take precautions against strong winds and lightning. Misty conditions are expected in parts of Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Ampara districts during the morning
