Navin Dissanayake was sworn in as the new Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province in the presence of President Ranil Wickremesinghe a short while ago today (13).
In a Twitter statement, Dissanayake expressed his gratitude for the appointment and highlighted his intention to utilise his 20 years of experience to enhance public delivery systems in the province and implement important reforms in the education sector.
Dissanayake is one of the two sons of the late Gamini Dissanayake, who was a former Leader of the Opposition and UNP Presidential Candidate.
He is also the brother of Mayantha Dissanayake, an Opposition Member of Parliament and married to Dr. Lanka Jayasuriya, the daughter of former Speaker of the House Karu Jayasuriya.
