The Palali – Achchuveli main road in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province reopened today (1) after being closed for over three decades due to the civil war. 

Responding to longstanding public requests, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake instructed security officials to address safety concerns, enabling the road’s reopening with support from the Ministry of Defence.
