Lanka Hospitals Corporation PLC announced the appointment of Consultant Neuro Physician Dr. M. Nilupul Perera as its new Chairperson, effective 5 December.
Perera brings over 18 years of extensive clinical experience to this leadership role.
Throughout his career, he has served in prominent hospitals across Sri Lanka, including Base Hospital Gampola, Teaching Hospital Peradeniya, Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital, Institute of Neurology at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka, Teaching Hospital Kurunegala, and General Hospital Anuradhapura.
In addition to his contributions to local healthcare, Dr. Perera has garnered international experience during his tenure in Australia. He worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at the National Stroke Research Institute in Victoria and provided clinical services at Austin Health Hospital.
His academic contributions include serving as a Clinical Tutor and Examiner at the University of Melbourne and publishing research papers that have gained recognition in Australia.
Perera has spearheaded community-based projects in Sri Lanka, driving greater awareness and access to quality healthcare. His dedication to education is evident through his role as a Visiting Lecturer at the Nurses Training School in Kandy and the University of Moratuwa.
