The Government Information Department has issued a warning about a fake invitation for the 'Siri Dalada Vandanawa' in Kandy circulating on social media.

The false invitation, which appears to be from President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, urges the public to attend the religious event.

Authorities clarified that no such invitation has been officially issued by the Government.

The warning comes as the 10-day veneration of the Sacred Tooth Relic begins today (18), marking the first such exposition in 16 years.
