The Navy rescued a fisherman in need of medical attention from a multi-day fishing trawler off Galle yesterday (20).
The fisherman, suffering from chest pain, was aboard the fishing trawler, which departed Ambalangoda on 17 November with 6 crew members.
Following a distress alert to the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC), a Navy rescue team was deployed to bring him ashore.
Accordingly, the fisherman was rushed to Teaching Hospital Karapitiya after first aid was administered by the Navy during the transfer.
