In a tragic turn of events last night (18), a lorry driver met his demise, setting off a wave of fury among residents in Narammala, Kurunegala. The enraged residents vented their anger by vandalizing property at the local police station, expressing deep dissatisfaction with the unfolding situation.

According to reports, the deceased lorry driver was allegedly flagged down by two undercover police officers on a motorcycle. Ignoring their signal to stop, the driver continued on his path, prompting the officers to initiate a pursuit. The encounter escalated quickly, culminating in what witnesses claim was the deliberate discharge of a firearm, leading to the untimely death of the driver.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, prompting vocal protests as residents question the motives behind the officers' actions. Accusations of an intentional use of lethal force with the firearm have added fuel to the already tense situation, casting a shadow over the credibility of law enforcement.
