A train bound for Mirigama derailed near Gampaha Railway Station this afternoon, causing disruptions on the Main Line.

The train had departed Colombo Fort at around 4.25 p.m. when the incident occurred.

As a result, all trains are now operating on a single track in the affected area.

The Railway Department warns passengers to expect delays until the situation is resolved.
