Former Minister Tiran Alles appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to record a statement regarding the death of a police sergeant during a shooting incident near the W15 Hotel in Weligama in December 2023. 

The CID summoned him due to suspicions that he may have knowledge of the case.
