The Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries has decided to reduce the price of fertilizers used for tea cultivation, including T 750, T 709, and T 200, by Rs. 2,000.

This decision will result in a 50 percent reduction in the market price of tea fertilizers, which currently exceeds Rs. 13,000 per bundle. The minister instructed government-owned fertilizer companies to take necessary steps to lower the prices of these fertilizers for both small- and medium-scale tea growers.

The reduced prices will be Rs. 7,735 for T 750 and T 709 and Rs. 5,500 for T 200. Large-scale tea-growing companies will also receive the fertilizers at a concessionary rate of Rs. 9,735.
