Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Weligama electoral organiser and party youth Vice Chairman Rehan Jayawickreme has been summoned to the CID once again, it is learnt.
This was made known via a twitter post today (10).
"Received yet another wonderful call from the CID. This time around they are summoning me for the second time regarding the torching of the President's house. Wonder when they will realise that some of us don't get intimidated by these archaic fear tactics?'" Jayawickreme's tweet mentioned.
When The Morning contacted Jayawickreme for a statement, he mentioned that the government is only focussed on politicians and not criminals.
"I am glad to know that despite ample of murderers, theives and criminals in this country, the law enforcement authorities in this country is paying extra close attention to politicians like myself
Jayawickreme, along with Hirunika Premachandra and several others were arrested few months ago for protesting outside former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's residence, yet were released within a matter of hours on bail.
