International Monetary Fund (IMF) representatives visiting Sri Lanka will meet with the Ministry of Energy and the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) today (21) to discuss electricity tariff revisions.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy, K.T.M. Udayanga Hemapala confirmed that the discussions aim to shape a new proposal, which will later be submitted to the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL).
The PUCSL recently rejected a 6.6% tariff reduction proposed by the CEB, deeming it insufficient, and requested a revised proposal.
