Children are at a higher risk of developing 'influenza A', said Dr. Deepal Perera, consultant paediatrician at the Lady Ridgeway hospital.
He mentioned this while speaking to the media today (03).
He further noted that 'influenza A' is a respiratory disease and caused symptoms such as cough, cold, runny nose and shortness of breath.
Dr. Deepal Perera also informed the public that due to the warm climate, it is required for both adults and children to drink a lot of water.
"Excessive sweating can lead to dehydration, and dehydration can result in symptoms like headaches, body aches and nausea. Therefore we should increase the amount of water we consume,"he concluded.
