• Mano Ganesan, Nizam Kariapper (Court orders mandatory inclusion), Sujeewa Senasinghe, Mohamed Ismail, named 

The main Parliamentary Opposition, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), has announced the four names nominated to fill its remaining National List Parliamentary seats in the Parliament. 

Accordingly, the SJB has named Mano Ganesan, Nizam Kariapper of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), Sujeewa Senasinghe and Mohamed Ismail for the four remaining National List MP posts. Following the General Election held on 14 November, the SJB secured five National List MP seats (bonus seats). On 19 November, the General Secretary of the SJB, Ranjith Madduma Bandara, had been appointed to one of the National List seats of the SJB while discussions had continued until yesterday (12) regarding the four remaining seats.

Meanwhile, the Colombo District Court issued an injunction order yesterday restraining and preventing the SJB from submitting their National List without including the name of Kariapper. The Court issued this order after considering a plaint filed by SLMC Leader and Opposition MP, attorney Rauff Hakeem.
